Putting Baby To Sleep....
Ok a few of you are wondering how I got Brooklyn to sleep through the night so quickly...well it wasn't easy. There is a way to do it...it's called feberizing (just Google Feberize). It goes like this...well this is the way we did it: Ok, for starters she has been sleeping in our bed for the last 5 1/2 months. We didn't mind it too much, except I don't sleep very well. She is way too wiggly. So, Sunday night we tried it. Put her to sleep and stuck her in the crib about 9:40ish. At 10:00 she woke up. You're supposed to let them cry theirselves back to sleep...as long as it takes. It was the hardest thing I have EVER done. I am not one to just let her cry. But we were out in the living room together (Brock and I) and he held me back and told me to wipe the tears and just let her do it. She needed to learn. About 10:30 she stopped suddenly. I was worried and went-quietly-to check on her. She had laid herself down and was going back to sleep. We slept on the couch-no sleep for me, I was too worried about my baby-all alone. About 2:30 she woke again and cried for about 15 minutes, laid herself to sleep and we went in there about 5:00. She coughed herself awake and I brought her in bed. we slept til 7:30. Each night since, if she wakes up in the middle of the night, she cries 10-20 minutes and then lays back down and goes to sleep. She only wakes once in the middle of the night, but always goes back to sleep within minutes!! I have slept through her cries...just because for medical reasons I am taking Ambien CR-a small dose. Brock says it wakes him, but it doesn't bother him. She is a smart cookie. It only took her only a few nights to catch on!
